Patil is a developmental specialist with a background in psychology. She received her undergraduate education from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently working towards obtaining her master’s degree in speech language pathology.
She specializes in children experiencing anxiety, anger management, grief, and loss. Patil is passionate about working with children and utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach in sessions by implementing unique play-based interventions to support your child’s progress and development.
Juliana is a Developmental Specialist with a background in Psychology. She specializes in one-on-one play-based support with school-age children both in-office and school settings. Her passion for working with infants to adolescents of different abilities and cultural backgrounds has expanded while working in schools in Northern and Southern California.
With a background in performing arts and love for yoga, Juliana uses a multidisciplinary approach to meet goals and build trusting relationships with kids and families at The Hummingbird Nest.

At The Hummingbird Nest, we specialize in DIR Floortime® Therapy. With the DIR Floortime® approach, we meet your child at their current level and expand from there. Their individual differences are accounted for and the sessions are fine-tuned to your unique child.
We use a multidisciplinary approach in all our sessions to better understand the root causes of behaviors and how to best address them. Forming a healthy relationship with the child and family is key in development. Giving parents the tools they need to practice strategies at home speeds up progress in meeting the goals we create together.
DIR®/Floortime™(Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based) is a developmental intervention model developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Weider. It centers the child’s unique interests, strengths, and challenges and uses the power of relationships and personal connections to aid in healthy social and emotional development.

The population we serve: Children, adolescents, and young adults (2-25 years of age).
Occupational therapists work with children and their families to help them succeed in their daily activities, including playing, learning, and socializing. Pediatric occupational therapy services can be beneficial for children with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments. Children who are referred to a pediatric occupational therapist may have a variety of diagnoses.
Our speech therapists work with children to help them communicate effectively, speak clearly, and listen closely.

Contact us here, we will first set up a phone call to determine if we are a good fit for your family. Next, we will schedule an intake session or in-school observation.
After services have begun, goals are created after 1 month of consistent attendance. Goals are not created after first visit as children will show you their difficulties after about a month or so.A goals meeting will be scheduled to discuss intervention strategies for both the interventionist and for the family to continue out-of-office hours. Goals are revisited and modified every 6 months.
We are currently accepting only private pay and work with the Self-Determination program through the regional centers.
We have children starting at 2 years old through 25 years of age in our current caseloads.
Yes, we have a blend of kids with and without diagnoses that come for services. If your child has a diagnosis, please bring any supporting documents for us to review during the intake session. This will speed up progress in meeting the goals we create together.
