How can you use high affect in conversations?
It is important to use body language; smiling, nodding, and using gestures to show you are engaged and interested. Varying your tone of voice; using an enthusiastic, warm, and animated tone to convey emotions Maintaining eye contact; this shows you are fully present and attentive. Mirroring their emotions; reflecting their feelings through your facial expressions and words. Being physically present; sitting at their level and face them directly. Showing empathy; verbally acknowledging their feelings with statements like, "I can see you're really happy about that!" or "That must have been tough for you." Being animated; using exaggerated expressions and gestures to show enthusiasm and engagement. Providing positive reinforcement; such as celebrating their emotions and achievements with statements like, "I am so proud of you!"
